Annotated Bibliography:
1. US Marine Corps: This website was the most useful for our topic. It is a great website that contains a lot of important infromation regarding the US Marines. We found almost all of the information on the current equipment used by todays soldiers. For each section of equipment, this website has a good description of the item, excellent photos, and very interesting videos. The only thing this site lacks is more of the general information on the equipment(i.e manufacturer and manufacturing date).
2. The Military: This is another website that gave us a lot of information about our military. It goes in depth on what is happening in the military today, shows information about new weapons and technologies that are coming out, and even gives you information on what soldiers go through to join the military. This website also has information on the personal lives of soldiers and what some have experienced in the military. Unfortunately this website did not have any information on equipment that was used in the past. It also would be better if it included drop down bars for each of the top columns. This would make it easier for viewers to find the information they are looking for.
3.Defense Industry Daily: Information on different militaries around the world and news about these militaries is what this website will give you. It includes information about the United States along with other countries to give you some insight on what other countries are doing to improve their militaries. It gives you great specifics and keeps you updated about things that are happening all around the world, including improvements, new inventions, and information on what militaries have planned for the future. However, this website is lacking columns across the top that help you access certain parts of the website. It is also very plain in color and would be better if it included more eyecatching materials like pictures, videos, and better colors.
4. First World War: This website was perfect for finding information about World War I. It gave us details about events leading up to the war, important people involved in the war, and what occured in the war as well. It also provided information about certain weapons that were used almost 100 years ago and how they were used. The website even broke down the details about how some of the machine guns were designed and created. This was easily the best website for us that involved World War I.
5. Barrett: For information on the Barrett sniper rifles, this website had everything we were looking for. It gave us background information about the company, when certain weapons were created, what weapons have been created by Barrett, and what weapons are being developed now. It has a lot of quick links that bring you to good descriptions along with interesting pictures and videos. The consistency of color and formatting keep the website looking professional and unique.
6. Military Factory: This website gave us useful information and specifications of small arms used by the U.S. military throughout history. This website was very easy to use and the catagories were very straight forward making it easy to navigate. This website gave you a few paragraphs describing each weapon then at the bottom gave you the specifications. This website was just overal a great website.
7.Lovett Artillery: This website was very useful in finding information about the French 75mm. This website was very easy to navigate it had all of the different pieces of artillery. They had the different artillery pieces located on the left side of the page and they were divided into catagories. The website was very straight forward, however, it didn't give as much of the specifications regarding the artillery as we would have hoped.
8.World War 1: This website was helpful with information on the Stokes Mortar. However, this website was extraordinarily difficult to navigate, but once you got to the page you were looking for it was very informative. This website also has information on other weapons of World War I, but I would recommend finding a different source rather than using this website.
9.Espacenet: This website was useful for finding patents of inventions and ideas. This website has several search options making it very easy to use allowing you to search by paent number or by key words. This website was very professional and was very organized.
10.Airman the Book: This magazine is the official magazine of the United States Air Force. This magazine was helpful for specifications about different weapons and the MQ-9. It was extremely easy to navigate due to the set up of the magazine. It was also helpful in the selecting of modern weapons to use on this website.
